2015 - 2016
The footprints were initially found by a team of geologists and paleontologists from Department of Mineral Resource from Thailand collaborated with Department of Mines and Energy from Cambodia when they were doing a survey of geology in Cambodia. The site is located in Ratanak Mondul district, Battambang province. They wrote a scientific report about the footprints and geological site and the information were reported to Ministry of Mine and Energy of Cambodia. |

A group of Liger students was studying about geology in Cambodia. They had a meeting about Cambodia geology with Deputy Director General of General Department of Mineral Resource. He informed us about the dinosaur footprints that were discovered in Battambang Province. Though, there was no evidence that proves if the tracks were valid. |

The information was passed to our school director and learning coordinator. Dinosaur footprint found in Battambang was very interesting to have further investigation since the governments don't have the programs to fund the research and there were no universities having students learn about paleontology. So, Liger learning coordinator, Mr. Jeff had an idea to start this project as an Exploration to have a deeper investigation. |

There are 10 students who participated in this Exploration. We spent the first few weeks researching general stuffs about dinosaurs. We spent time in class analysing the casts of the footprints we got from Battambang. We wrote a report, which you can check here. We then sent emails and the report to different paleontologists to help us validate the tracks. The project is still in progress and is continuing. We really want to know if the footprints are real, and if it real, then we can share this discovery to Cambodian and the world. |

We went to Battambang to do the casts of the footprints so that we could take it to study in class. We spent a day walking around the area. We took notes, measured the length and the size of the footprints. We then used clay or plaster of paris to do the casting. Besides doing the cast, we interviewed some people around the area whether they believe in dinosaurs. It turned out that they don’t believe in dinosaurs at all, they just saw it on TV. |
